~ Chapter 6 ~

After a week of wonderful in Key West, we were headed home. When we landed, got our luggage, and hailed a cab, we both became silent when the cabby asked for the address.

“Let’s swing by my place and then we can drive over to your place. I’ll pack a bag. We won’t have any privacy at my place.” Smiling, she agreed. Placing her head on my shoulder, I pulled her legs over my lap as she curled into my side for the cab drive to my place.

When we pulled in front of the building, I took her through the gym entrance after paying the cab driver. Walking to the front desk, I pulled out some paperwork for her and handed it to her.

“What’s this for?”

“Membership. I can’t have you going to the competition.” She glared at me and I smiled. “It’s free. Consider it a perk of being married to one of the owners.”

Rolling her eyes she grunted her approval. “Fine. If you don’t offer the same classes we’re going to have a problem!”

“Tell me the classes and I’ll make it happen.” She narrowed her eyes at me and I winked.

Stella walked over just then and got a little too touchy with me like she usually did. “Heath! Where’ve you been? I missed you.”

Will and I hadn’t told anyone at work that I was married, wanting to see first how things developed. And given the fact that Will hated dealing with the employees directly, it was clear he still hadn’t told anyone.

“He’s been with me. On our honeymoon.” I blew out a breath, trying to contain my amusement at Lucy’s statement of ownership.

“That’s funny. Heath married?” Stella glared at Lucy while snickering, doing what any insecure chick did and took in her appearance.

Lucy with her ivory skin and piercing blue eyes, was petite in every way, appearing delicate, yet she was anything but. Stella was average height, voluptuous, and had olive skin that matched her eyes. And her tits were fake. I wasn’t picky, but preferred my women all natural.

Stella still had her hand on my arm when she added, “Honey, you’re not his type.”

Stella couldn’t have been more wrong. Lucy was my type, she wasn’t, not anymore. I kept silent, curious what Lucy would say and do and I wasn’t left waiting long.

“And what type would that be?” She returned Stella’s stare, scanning her up and down as she spit out, “Pretty sure floozy isn’t Heath’s type.”

Stella removed her hand from my arm and braced her hands on the counter as she leaned in closer to Lucy. “Pretty sure bitch isn’t his type either.”

“That would be Mrs. Bitch to you.” Lucy just smiled and then stretched out her hand to Stella, “Mrs. Lucy Kerrigan. Who might you be?”

Stella was speechless and I was worried she may jump across the counter at Lucy. While the thought of them in a cat fight was appealing, I didn’t need the added drama. When it became evident that Stella wasn’t going to shake her hand, Lucy dropped it back to her side, still smiling.
